Pittsburgh is becoming not only the town of bridges and rivers, but the town of technology and breweries too! Pittsburgh is known for the Steelers and going dahn tahn, but there are more and more places in the city popping up. Not only is there a ton of new development with luxury apartments, condos, and housing plans, but new restaurants and breweries too.
Here is a list of the up and coming locations in Pittsburgh...
1. Lawrenceville

Lawrenceville was a very depressed area for decades until recent. Over the past 5 years this area has been almost completely redeveloped. There are huge commercial developments, modern townhouses, and new restaurants on almost every corner. It is less than 10 minutes from downtown and has citywide views! This is mostly occurring because of the hospital off of Penn Ave that has brought in an abundance of jobs and desire to live near the city.
2. East Liberty

The east end of Pittsburgh has also been down for distressed buildings and an abundance of crime. Over the past 10 years this town has transformed into a beautiful modern, high end neighborhood. There has been massive developments surrounding the Shadyside area. Bakery Square has brought in investors, developers, high end renters, and of course Google. This has become the hub for technology and business near the city!
3. Homestead

Homestead always had potential being near the Waterfront, which has several shops, a movie theatre, top notch restaurants, and great scenery near the river. Unfortunately, the area never seemed to expand with the rest of the city. Lately, there has been tons of development along the main drag on 8th ave as well as new condo developments. This area is placed 15 minutes from the city, with beautiful victorian homes and tons of opportunity to catch up to the other areas east of the city like East Liberty and Garfield.
