Pittsburgh is known for the Steelers, Bridges, and of course local bars and breweries. We found interest in Pittsburgh for a different reason though....buying properties!
We had been accumulating contacts, experience, and a strategy to take on a real estate market as well as build a successful construction team. Over the years, our research determined Pittsburgh was that market. It makes total sense too.
Cost of living
The cost of living in Pittsburgh is almost lower than any other major cities in the US. The average person can afford to own a house making under $50,000 a year. Most bigger cities you can barely survive off that, let alone enjoy home ownership. The cost to live a great lifestyle in this city is very low.

Old Properties
Most of the properties in Pittsburgh were developed in the 20's! This is way off from the norm across the US. In some markets a building is considered old after 10 years, especially the higher end markets. This provided us with a great opportunity for buildings that are not up to code, outdated, or condemned.
Jobs
Over the past decade, Pittsburgh has suddenly become a hub for technology. With big companies like Google, Uber, and many healthcare companies expanding here, it provides a great opportunity for employment. This has been bringing in a ton of outside interest and expertise from workers all over the country. With the inflow of jobs and new residents, this will help the housing market as well.
Age
Pittsburgh is one of the oldest cities in America. In fact, Allegheny County is in the top 5 oldest communities demographically. This means a ton of people are downsizing, inheriting properties, or have outdated housing. We found this is a great market to help the need of people selling there house in Pittsburgh, especially if it is distressed or very outdated.

There is always an opportunity out there somewhere. We luckily decided to go all in on the Pittsburgh market, and are extremely proud of how far we've come. The area is a great opportunity for real estate investing, as well as people who are seeking buyers to sell their house!
